Teacher Communication Training

Building better school environments that are effective is heavily influenced by individual teachers and their level of regulation within the social emotional skills they have (or don't have)!  We accomplish this at The Space Between through play and art. Skip the boring presentations and unidirectional learning by engaging in games and art-based activities where you ignite the joyful side of life, all with an underlying, driving purpose that will get results.  

Safety has been and will continue to be a focus in our school systems.  One solution is found in building positive relationships.  Not the "let's all be friends" kind of relationships, but professional, functioning relationships based off of information gathering, active listening, intentional communication, and common mindset and language.

So how do we go from fun to results? The answer is through experiencing, reflecting,  and discussing. We use frameworks in self-awareness, validation, and boundary setting as a lens to look at our natural behaviors to turn them into chosen behaviors that are supported by experts in their respective fields. Participants of all ages, races, and world views walk away with new awareness and strategies for immediate use and implementation!  More humanity, makes for safer spaces for children and adults alike.

Teachers have so many daily and yearly demands.  Most come to work having to utilize skills as a subject matter expert, parent, and mediator on a daily basis.  With the gaps, inequities, and diverse personalities in every classroom, the work is never simple.  Teachers must engage students who missed out on learning and social skills that are so very important to development.  If a child is unregulated there is little chance for learning.  And if a teacher is unregulated students are left without the modeling of success.

Our solution is to emphasize the roles of self awareness and communication in equipping teachers to take care of their work and themselves!  We are very conscientious of time and budget limitations and only deliver quality experiences that will enhance teacher success. 

We offer a series of 5 experiences that are most affective when done as a series over a semester.  The monthly, half day staff experiences can be combined with full consulting with all individual participants.  Please inquire if you have specific needs for your school or district.
